While we are no longer in an emergency water usage stage, our pumping capacity remains limited. Currently, we are operating with only one distribution pump. We kindly ask that residents continue to conserve water by limiting usage to essential household needs only. Please ensure that all sprinkler systems are turned off and refrain from non-essential outdoor water use, such as car washing or landscape watering. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated as we work to restore full system functionality.

Newkirk Funeral @First Baptist Church San Saba

Special Announcement from the City of San Saba in Memory of Steve Newkirk July 9, 1972 – April 11, 2025

Steven Bryce Newkirk, Police Chief for the City of San Saba, passed away on April 11, 2025, at his home. He was born on July 9, 1972, in El Paso, TX, to Dale and Gayle Clemons Newkirk.

Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held at San Saba’s First Baptist Church on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.

Charitable donations may be made in Chief Newkirk’s name to fund police academy scholarships. Details are forthcoming.
