Flood Recovery Update | FEMA Fact Sheet Regarding Substantial Improvement/Substantial Damage

The purpose of the FEMA Fact Sheet is to answer frequently asked questions regarding the Substantial Improvement/Substantial Damage (SI/SD) requirements of the National Flood Insurance Plan (NFIP) for the repair and improvements of structures that have been damaged as a result of flooding.

Rebuilding Requirements for Flood Damaged Property

By Floodplain Ordinance, any repair of a structure located in the floodplain is required to obtain a Floodplain Development Application before the start of any remodeling/rebuilding.

FEMA/Disaster Recovery Center Now Open in San Saba

The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC), hosted by FEMA, is open and located at the San Saba Civic Center located at 1190 S. Thomas Stewart Road, housed within Mill Pond Park. Hours are 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Daily. Last day to apply for assistance is Thursday, September 4th.
