Three days of FREE Covid-19 testing will be available in December. Dr. Craig Whiting will be working with Marsha Hardy and the City of San Saba to set up a testing site at the San Saba Civic Center from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10th. and Thursday, December 17th. An additional day of testing will be held on Wednesday, December 16th, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. also at the Civic Center. It will be as before with the ability to drive up and be tested inside your vehicle. Up to 30 tests can be performed each day. It is the rapid test which is not quite as accurate as the PCR test but results are available within the half hour. The sample is collected from the nose. The probe, however, does not go as deep as the nasopharyngeal swab that is often uncomfortable. There is no cost to the person being tested. Results can be communicated by phone and a written result can be mailed to the patient if needed.
